Solid grid. Good range of groups. The ones I knew were easy enough! Slightly spoiled by a cultural reference that passed me by (when there are other more generally known options).

@Murdo. Yes, it's annoying when you don't know the answers, and they can sometimes be so obscure that they don't seem 'fair'. That's kinda the point, though, isn't it?

I agree with Ace - there were no red herrings I could see so every group slotted in nicely. The only thing Murdo might be referencing is the 'Man' one, but nothing else in the grid fits that line. For info the 'Man' first appeared in 1963.

I agree. All seemed doable to me. I missed the Man connection but should have got it.

It was Fist that threw me and, yes, maybe Man should have as well but I knew that one!
It's an undefined line where some piece of knowledge is either general or a bit too 'how was I meant to know that?'.
I'm happy to not know things. Which is just as well, really.

decent grid. Could do with some more key words allowed for the "synonyms" one (turntable etc) as i wouldn't say twist and roll are exactly the same meaning.

I wrote something like "hidden actions or verbs" i also tried to potentially catch if it was gymnastics moves but it still came out as wrong for me
