"Grain" is spelled correctly; there is no Tolstoy story called The Grail. I don't see any other spelling mistakes you might be referring to. Also, "collies" is in fact accepted as an answer for that group. Other than that, your comments are spot on.

I think the short stories are by Pushkin, not by Tolstoy, as I remember the snowstorm from a story collection.
