good connections but i i'm not a fan of grids where all the links are the same theme, if you could have spread these four groups over four grids with other themes it would have been better.

Fiendish grid, top work. Too hard for me to find any groups at all, but I could identify them after the timer gave out.
I would take issue, though, with the word "synonym" being used to describe the answers; the letters represent homophones (same sound, different meaning), rather than synonyms (different words, same meaning).

A bit easy once I realized the theme. Nice grid!

I absolutely love this grid! Seemed difficult at the start, but became much more accessible once I figured out the fun and unique theme.

really lovely idea and a fun grid but agree with the homophone mix up and the river Exe is in Devon! It rises on Exmoor. Exeter and Exmouth named after it.

definitely agree with SidC! i imagine it would have been a bit easier of a board if i had more of a British or biologist background, but even without that it was easy to figure out the theme which made it fun even if i couldn't figure out all the categories!
