Touring and Turing aren’t really pronounced the same, at least not like Rustle and Russell. I also think as a rule of thumb a group of clues should be either preceded or followed by a certain word, not a mixture of both - it makes connecting them unnecessarily hard.

@Kent Thanks for the feedback! Also for sure {Gödel, Girdle} and {Canter, Cantor} are not pronounced the same, by many people. But near enough to be somewhat identifiable, I hope! For the Christmas group, maybe I should swap out "White" for something else. There was a vague "red herring" reason for leaving it in, aimed at the people I wrote the puzzle for, but I take your point!

Pronunciation's often an issue, but I think all of these are close enough to work well. Not that I got them, but that's just down to my ignorance. White was fine, but I felt that number one was a little bit weak, no way I'd have put it in that group.
