I found 7 of the points pretty easy which is fine... but the last group. Things you haven't got... Scooby fine, prayer, yeah okay... But then you seem to have split up answer to count as two? I haven't got an earthly doesn't make sense? Normally good grids from you in fairness, but not too keen on splitting one answer across two squares.

I'm not sure what you mean SF7. If you got the Scooby one I assume you're UK based. I thought that might be a hurdle for some. Though they have the same meaning really, 'chance' and 'earthly' can be used separately. They both stand up to a Google search as sayings.

I googled 'havent got an earthly' as I've never heard of it and it said 'did you mean haven't got an earthly chance?' - maybe a Scotland thing but I've never heard of it and my Google search hadn't either. Like I say, might just be me. It does sounds though like the saying haven't got an earthy is abbreviated from earthly chance so might still be a little confusing.

Happy to agree to disagree though

Haven't got an earthly is not that uncommon, was obvious to me, so I thought the group, and the others, was nicely thought out. Liked the Scooby do red herring.

It’s all fair. I wasn’t that thrilled with the pair of them because they could be seen as too close together but I couldn’t think of anything else and I liked the rest of the grid :-D

Aye absolutely, rest of the grid was good mate so appreciate that. Just my take on it though as I've enjoyed pretty much all your other grids. Appreciate Ace's comment too so maybe it's just me!

Also never heard of "haven't got an Earthly" - google references are very sparse (didn't even autocomplete it) so it definitely seems like a dated saying. Still valid though and a good grid either way.

Earthly is quite common, and it and chance can be used separately, but I'd question Scooby, both because it is very obscure - I've never heard of it - but also because it has a different meaning from the others. They are synonymous with no hope, whereas scooby is no idea.

Nice grid and I have no problem with the contentious group
