Wouldn't accept British currency *grumble*

SueC4
Excellent! Missed the Beatles! Darn!
(6 years, 10 months ago)

Nellington
Very good, except the coin set wouldn't accept pre-decimal currency as an answer.

Lauren
I really liked this one! Especially the Beatles.

MJH
Beatles songs are interchangeable with a category of “girls names”

Missed Agatha Christie

THIS IS HARD AND NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE TOP OF BEST GRIDS
(5 years, 2 months ago)

Robert the Bruce
got only one line but all four reasons. Spud gun threw me out.

Bloomy
You need specialist knowledge for this. As a huge Beatles and Agatha Christie fan I found this easy
(5 years ago)

Enn
Good (though I'm mildly disgruntled that "Pre-decimal British currency" wasn't accepted). Some interesting red herrings. Perhaps a little easy, but fun!

Nighteyes
I don't agree with Bloomy. Some niche bands and writers count as specialist knowledge, but the Beatles and Agatha Christie fall into the category of General Knowledge.

had fun doing this one.

Nice. Grids don't need to be impossible to be challenging.

To MJH: Jude is not a girl's name

Huh.... Jude is short for Judith - nice grid !
(4 years, 2 months ago)

Bowiewhist
Great fun but dead easy - or maybe I am on a roll tonight. All done in 40 secs and spotted the groups instantly. Full marks. Nice but in the wrong category altogether.

Quite easy

Jude is definitely a boy - in this case Julian Lennon.

Urgh - I was singing Elenor Rigby in my head but didn't get the connection even when it was shown to me!

Andrea
Nice grid, knowing Agatha Christie books well helped!
(4 years, 1 month ago)

Liam
Put money instead of coin names but feel this should still count as should pre decimal coins
(4 years, 1 month ago)

Bob&Jenny
money!?

I disagree about it being in the wrong category. e.g. if you don't know the Christie novels, the whole grid is hopeless. There are still a lot of things I haven't heard of, like Gatling Gun, or a Farthing being a coin... I am non-native. But still, this is definitely one that requires background knowledge to figure out.
It was good.

Enjoyable wall, more medium than hard, though definitely one where it helps to be British.
(3 years, 10 months ago)

Robert
Somehow managed to solve this in 20 seconds flat. Saw Christie immediately as I am a huge fan, and then Gatling gave me guns, by which point there were only four coins left and got the Beatles songs connection whilst working my way down.

francesi
Came back five years later and failed to solve :-) Apologies for lack of alternatives for coins (currency/money etc). You can't fix this once you've submitted. But glad some people liked it. It was for my daughter, Lucy (and sister Eleanor)

Nice one, thought I might struggle on the Christie but fell into place.
