You're far from the exception though, most grids on this site are just ridiculous with words railroaded into fitting into already decided categories/solutions with no thought for the puzzle taker.

Great wall. Annoyed I didn't spot the water link, other than that did ok.
I'm guessing George is just taking out his inability to solve some walls on the people who set them. Surely, railroading words into categories is what this game is all about??? You can't just randomly pick any old stuff can you. As long as they fit then their fair game.
